Council of New Jersey Grantmakers

The Newark Philanthropic Liaison convenes funders, connects cross-sector partners for collective action, and leverages public resources with private funds to directly support organizations, policies, and initiatives that seek to make Newark an equitable city. The office is nonpartisan and based in the Mayor’s Office in Newark City Hall. The Liaison represents one of the nation's first formal partnerships between a city and the philanthropic community, and has become a national model for public-private alliances.
