Branch Brook Park Alliance Fund (CFNJ)

The Branch Brook Park Alliance (BBPA) was established in 1999 to work in partnership with the County of Essex to restore and revitalize Branch Brook Park. The oldest county park in the nation, and an Olmsted park listed on the state and national registers of historic places, Branch Brook Park was established in 1896 in a densely populated city starved for open space. Newark's largest park at 360 acres, Branch Brook Park comprises 42% of the city's parkland. BBPA's mission is to restore and reactivate Branch Brook Park, with particular sensitivity to community needs and the adaptive re-use of the park, while maintaining the integrity of the Olmsted vision and the park's historic features.
