Jazz House Kids
Jazz House Kids transforms lives by helping students gain an "artistic edge" through music, mentoring, education and apprenticeship. Their work takes place in schools, providing free, weekly music education programs; at the Jazz House in Montclair with 20 introductory, intermediate and pre-professional ensemble programs; and in the community, where students and jazz professionals perform nearly 80 concerts annually. Working with young people from all backgrounds, jazz is used as an effective teaching tool to enhance academic achievement, build essential 21st century skills, and cultivate tomorrow's community leaders and global citizens. Jazz House Kids has gained a reputation as one of the nation's preeminent arts education and performance organizations, immersing students in a culture of success using an authentic approach.
